Landmarks over Landshark
The water tower is one of our best and most well known landmarks, even though it is no longer in use. The view from Margaritaville Hotel gives us a great look at the tower and used to show us one side of The Wheel (since transplanted to Atlanta).

This is our Northwest Farm Terrier (a local breed) named Punkin. She's extremely smart and alert. She needs lots of exercise, which is good; it forces us to walk her a hour a day.

This is a photo from Humes Ranch.
The Humes Ranch cabin was built around the year 1900 by William Humes. William Humes was originally from New York and arrived in the Elwha River area en route to the Klondike. William, his brother, and a cousin liked the area so much they set up homestead sites. In the early 1940s, Herb Crisler settled into the cabin at Humes Ranch with his bride, Lois, while they filmed wildlife for what became Walt Disney's "Olympic Elk" film. Since acquiring the property from Peninsula Plywood, the National Park Service has restored the cabin, conforming to its original appearance and with much of the original materials. Wood deterioration, however, is occurring, as a result of the moist Olympic Peninsula environment.
Fort Worden State Park, with its 1902 buildings and historic impact for Washington state, exemplifies the value of history and natural resources for the citizens of our state. I caught this rainbow--the promise of a bright future--one day in the early spring, 2012. We are proud to be volunteers for Washington State Parks.
I want to visit a good friend who owns a farm in MI. I would bring two other friends also. She has not lived near family and friends for quite a few years. When she got married 20 years ago she moved to the Netherlands and then 10 years ago moved back to the USA but in MI. She would be so surprised to have some of her close friends show up at her farm for a visit.
